This book was on the darker side, as you can probably tell from the title. The universe built in this book was a really interesting one, and I liked how it was a likely one too. The book slowly revealed the background of each of the two characters, and showed how they both, but especially Mateo, had to overcome their own difficulties and problems before they could let anyone else in.

This book follows 2 guys who don't know each other until they both realize they are all alone. Mateo is a quiet calm teenager with a dad in the hospital and Rufus is a foster kid. They both receive a death call telling them they will die in between now and 24 hours. They download the last friend app at different times due to the emotions they are holding in and they can only rely on each other to survive. Beautiful story based on friendship, loss, and sadness.
