    It was a great book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries and adventure books. It was definitly my favorite series. Also suggested: The other books in the Uglies series

    This is the first book in the Uglies series, and it is about a girl named Tally in her bizarre city where when you turn 16 you get surgery that turns you pretty. A little bit before she gets the surgery, her best friend Shay runs away and Tally gets blackmailed, so she can either turn pretty and betray her friend, or she can be ugly the rest of her life to protect her friend. Which will she choose?
