I personally didn't like this book at all and I don't know why other people like it. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

This book is okay, a bit confusing at some parts and boring at others. I would not recommend this.

Are you treated badly because of the way you look, the clothes you wear, or the music you listen to? I know I always have been judged because I like rock music and I wear T-Shirts that express who I am. The greasers from The Outsiders by SE Hinton go through the same things most kids go through everyday... But they have it a lot worse. They get beat up for no good reason, just because of their past. The story is told from Ponyboy's point of view. Ponyboy is a kid that does well in school, but doesn't have the greatest home life. His parents died and he lives with his two brothers, Sodapop and Darry. The boys have a gang called the greasers and their sworn enemies are the Socials the Socs. The Socs have it made. They're rich, popular, and everyone likes them. Except for the greasers. If you like a book that consists of family, friends, action, bravery, betrayal, poverty, labels, and searching for a place where everybody is equal, The Outsiders is a great book for you. In my personal experience of reading this book, S.E. Hinton showed me something that uplifted my soul: No matter who you are, others will have first impressions of you. They may be good and they may be bad, but all I know is, my first impression of this book was amazing. And after meeting each and every character, each and every page, it became clear that my first impression was correct. Amazing. Also suggested: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
