Anyone who enjoys reading novels set in Portland, learning about people with experiences far from theirs, or novels set in the 1980s should read this book. Told from multiple points of view the story unfolds in a complex manner that kept me flipping the pages, and gasping to myself. The characters are diverse and likeable, but more importantly their situations are clear. The pieces came together to tell a beautiful message discussing grief, race and societal pressures.
