I learned so much about the perils of illegal border crossing. I learned that many of the experiences in the book are real to many people, and I even met one person with interesting experiences of his own which he told to me after I told him about this book.

This book was really confusing for me to understand. It needs to stick with one plot, not all of what Victor went through because this author would just put one word not the full noun so you would not understand what was going on. Overall, this book could have been easier to follow, but the plot really sinks in as you read about his poor mother and family.
