I've been educated on this topic before, but Dead Aid really showed how aid in Africa isn't necessarily as beneficial as it seems and that there are other, better ways to support the economies of more impoverished nations. It wasn't really my kind of genre assigned reading but it was much better than I thought it would be, very well-written, eye-opening, and worth reading.
