I’m going to start with the positives... I loved how this book explained the background behind the Hanging Tree song from the original Hunger Games series, as well as a few other details that I won’t give away. Overall the plot was good, however, the ending was extremely underwhelming. For a book that is supposedly the history of President Snow, it didn’t explain a whole lot. That being said, this book is well written, I was just expecting more backstory and was disappointed that I didn’t get any. If you plan on reading this book, I recommend going into it with no expectations or spoilers. Overall it’s a decent read. Also suggested: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay
