List of capital improvement projects (CIP).
Status: Current project
Project Category: Water
This project includes drilling a new ASR well No 7a at the City's Cooper Mountain Reservoir site, where an existing ASR well No 7 (capacity 1.3 mg) and two 5.5 MG drinking water storage reservoirs (total storage capacity 11 million gallons) are also located. This site’s infrastructure is critical for the City of Beaverton because it houses a significant supply of stored water, can fill the reservoirs with stored water or groundwater from the two ASR wells No 7 and 7a in the case of an emergency, and the elevation allows the infrastructure to distribute water to the rest of City of Beaverton and partnering agencies (TVWD, City of Tigard, etc.), if other water supplies are disrupted. ASR Well No. 7a is anticipated to have a potential capacity of upto 2 mgd.

Similar to ASR Well No.7, ASR Well No 7a will serves as an alternate resilient and redundant water supply that serves to fill the Cooper Mountain Reservoirs and the residents in the City's upper elevations. ASR enables the city to meet short-term peak water demand during the summer, helping to delay the need to purchase water, and delay the need to build capital improvements for additional water treatment and storage.
