CIP 3340 - All Roads Transportation Safety (ARTS) Project for Systemic Signal & Illumination

Project Description

1. SW Allen Blvd – Implement an adaptive traffic signal system along SW Allen Blvd from SW Murray Blvd to SW Western Ave, install intersection illumination, and install reflectorized back plates to all existing signal heads.

2. SW Hall Blvd & SW Nimbus Ave - Replace two traffic signal poles to accommodate the northbound and southbound protected left turn signal displays, add intersection illumination, and install reflectorized back plates to all existing signal heads.

3. SW Hall Blvd & SW Cedar Hills Blvd - Replace one traffic signal pole on the NW corner to a safe distance from traffic and add illumination.

Project Schedule

FY17-18: City Council approved and signed an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with State of Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The City paid the required 7.78% match for engineering.
FY18-19: ODOT is now contracting for the required engineering services.
FY19-20: ODOT prepares PS&E
FY21-22 Bid Date March 2022
FY22-23 Construction, Complete Project

Project Justification

The purpose of this project is to address some of the safety needs, congestion and delay issues within Beaverton.
