Project Description

MSTIP: This project will widen Walker Road, between 173rd and 185th avenues, to five lanes, two travel lanes in each direction and a center turn lane.
https://www.co.washington.or.us/LUT/TransportationProjects/walkerroad3.cfm Water: This is an opportunity project to design and construct a City water main to serve customers in a recently annexed area (Area 4) in conjunction with the road improvements. Water work will consist of approximately 3,600 feet of 24-inch and 3,700 feet of 12-inch waterline and associated structures on Walker Rd and 100 feet of 8-inch waterline on Cambray St. Limits of waterline work will extend south of NW Walker Road to NW 173rd Ave./NW 171st Ave.
Sanitary Sewer: Structures need to be adjusted to match design finished grade of improved roadway. There may be some cost share; to be determined at final design.
Storm Drain: The proposed storm drain system primarily serves the improved roadway thus it is a roadway expense. City offered use of existing city-controlled land to build some of the required regulatory stormwater treatment and detention system in exchange for some minor betterments of the existing storm drain system.

FY 22-23: ROW acquisition, County target bid date: January 2023
Estimated Construction start: March 2023; Construction Finish October 2024

Project Justification

Making necessary utility improvements or repairs in conjunction with a MSTIP roadway project saves money and reduces the amount construction impacts to the public.
