Wolf Children
by Mamoru Hosoda
Astounding artwork + perfect dialog and story! This is what comics should all be like!
This could possibly be the most cutest yet sad slice of life sorry I have ever read. Wolf Children follows a college student named Hana who is just trying to get through life. One day, she meets a man who is also in the same college class as her and she decided she to share her textbook with him upon learning that he does not have one. Perhaps you can see where this is going. Soon, they start to get close and fall in love with each other, but he has a big secret. He is actually half wolf! Happiness and bliss is what follows when they are expecting a child and a cozy life is what is expected in the future. Then, a tragedy happens and Hana is left to fend for her and her children. How will she get through life and protect her kids when they are half wolf?! Throughout this story, I experienced ups and downs while following Hana and her children. It is a beautiful story about Motherhood and what our mothers sacrifice to help us grow up. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to read an emotionally moving tale.
