When Stars Are Scattered is a heartwarming graphic novel that tells the story of a Somali boy growing up in a refugee camp. The story, while meant for a child's audience, is poignant and immediately captivated my attention. It has a recurring theme of heartbreak and hope and portrays a specific reality in a way different from most other books. I loved this graphic novel so much and would definitely recommend as a quick, easy, but worthwhile read. Also suggested: Refugee by Alan Gratz, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
