by Ned Vizzini (YA VIZZINI, N.)
Put this on your must read list!
It's Kind of a Funny Story is a gripping novel that explores the extent of mental illness. The protagonist, Craig, tired of terrifying life, is going to commit suicide when, instead, he calls a suicide hotline. He is then checked into an adult psychiatric facility within a hospital. The story recalls Craig's five days in the facility, where he learns to deal with his depression, open up, and make real friends who understand him. If you want more insight into mental illness, especially among adolescents.

Read this book right now & tell all your friends!
This was an absolutely amazing book. Since the book takes place in a psych ward, all of the events that happen are so fascinating. What makes it even better is that the author Vizzini checked himself into a psych ward and spent a week just so he could make this story as realistic as possible.
