Current Description

Oregon Electric Railway - 1910 observation car had mahogany wood finish, floors were carpeted, seats plush, and ceilings were decorated in green and gold. The photo is either of two identical Observation Cars purchased by the Oregon Electric Railway (OER): the Champoeg and Sacajawea. They passed through Garden Home on a daily basis on the end of trains running between Portland and Salem, and later onto Eugene. As such, they seldom would have been seen in Beaverton. The Champoeg still exists.
